3 Outdoor Kitchens That Will Make You Wish Summer Would Never End
While summer doesn’t technically start until June 21st, I’ve always felt like Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial kick off to summer. I think it’s because kids are getting out of school, vacations are on the horizon, the weather is warm, and those barmy, priceless summer nights are here!
Summer, or late spring as it is now, is a great time to take inside activities outside, and really embrace the warmer weather and the outdoors. Nothing says outdoor fun like eating outside and what better place to grill in style than an outdoor kitchen?
Outdoor kitchens can come in many shapes, styles and price ranges. Today, I want to show you a few outdoor spaces that will make you hope summer never ends!
Let’s start with my own personal outdoor kitchen. Yep, you read that right….I have an outdoor kitchen and it’s pictured above! Back in 2013 my husband and I DIY‘ed ourself an outdoor kitchen and it was quite the project. The whole concept of DIY’ing an outdoor kitchen came about when we received a Big Green Egg as a wedding gift. We found ourselves with the new Big Green Egg, a regular grill a desire for a pizza oven and a pretty large deck, so we thought…why not? We literally built the entire thing by hand and the experience was fun, maddening and exhausting all at the same time. Since completing the project, we have enjoyed the heck out of our new space. We love to grill out whether we are throwing a party, hosting a tailgate or just having a quite dinner for two. The outdoor kitchen gave our back porch its own personality and it definitely mixes form and function.

If you happen to have a little more space on your hands how wonderful would an outdoor space like this be? You really can’t call a space like this simply and outdoor kitchen. If you’re into a more modern aesthetic for your outdoor kitchen, check out this sleek and clean outdoor space. This design incorporates our popular Egg Oven As you can see this kitchen doesn’t take up a whole lot of space but packs a major punch in the pretty and functional department. I love how the logs at the bottom add texture while the top portion is dedicated to cooking and serving. I’m sure the owners of this space would list eating and entertaining outdoors at the top of their summer activity list!
As you can see a great outdoor kitchen can be as simple as a nice home for your grill to an extravagant extension of your home. At the end of the day any structure or space dedicated to outdoor kitchen enjoyment fits the bill for a happy summer full of delicious food and good times!
